Lost Wax Castings

Investment casting is one of the oldest known metal-forming techniques. Investment casting is an industrial process also known as lost-wax casting which is over 5,000 years old! Using today’s high-technology waxes, refractory materials, and specialist alloys, these castings allow Pacific Rim Enterprises to produce components with accuracy, repeatability, versatility and integrity in a variety of metals and high-performance alloys.

Pacific Rim Enterprises uses this process mostly for small casting components but have used it in the past to complete frames and steel castings of up to 660 lbs and aluminum castings of up to 66 lbs. We have used this process when we’ve been asked to produce complicated shapes that could be difficult or impossible with die casting, yet like that process, requires little surface finishing and minor machining.
